Proactive Fire: a business model built on giving

Comprehensive Fire Safety System Inspections

After years of working in other companies, Proactive Fire founder Tristan Woolley saw first-hand how corporate structures could be inefficient and misaligned with values that truly matter. This experience left him with a firm conviction that businesses could operate successfully while also making a meaningful contribution to society.

It was the motivation to do business differently that resulted in the founding of Proactive Fire in June 2016. Today, Proactive Fire provides expert fire protection services across New Zealand, offering comprehensive solutions for active and passive fire systems and ensuring safety and compliance while donating profits to support charitable causes.

It’s an approach grounded in the belief that success isn’t about how much you earn but how much you can help others.

“After paying our team fairly, everything else is extra,” Tristan says. “It’s our job to help those who haven’t been as fortunate.”

Proactive Fire has chosen to sponsor these three charities:

  1. Variety
  2. Youth in Transition
  3. StarJam

Each organisation supports children and young people in need across New Zealand by providing essentials, fostering inclusion, and offering mental health support. Each of these charities aligns with Proactive Fire’s philosophy of investing in the future by empowering young people to thrive, regardless of their circumstances.

At the heart of Proactive Fire’s operations is the principle that everyone is rewarded based on effort, not seniority or skillset. Tristan believes that people’s abilities are often a product of their environment, and by focusing on effort, his company provides equal opportunities for all employees.

“What better use of money is there than to benefit others?” Tristan asks.

As Proactive Fire grows, every new client becomes part of this giving model, directly contributing to the causes they support.

By choosing Proactive Fire, clients are investing in fire safety and joining a movement to address inequality and give back to the next generation.
